The endangered Skyros horse is one of the rarest horse breeds in the world and is indigenous in Greece since antiquity. Friendly, companionable and intelligent, the Skyros horse loves children and it’s said that it’s the best horse for children to ride.
The small non-profit organisation Friends of the Skyrian Horse (Φίλοι του Σκυριανού Αλόγου) is a farm based on the breeding of this endangered (300 worldwide) breed of horse. They are on the island of Skyros, Greece and are in need of hay and medical supplies. They are currently trying to raise funds through their crowdfunding campaign and also accept donations.
