a webinar series with Nikos Dionysios
Nikos will delve into the contemporary history of Ancient Greek Tragedy and describe how it survived through the centuries:
How were the ancient plays and texts rediscovered?
He will describe the various challenges regarding the ancient plays, the translations, performing methods and techniques, in the 20th century.
We will be introduced to the works of various artists such as:
Dimitris Rontiris, Karolos Koun, Peter Hall, Yukio Ninagawa, Peter Stein, etc.
The art of Ancient Greek Tragedy in the 20th and early 21st century:
How was it presented internationally?
How does it speak to us now?
How will it evolve in the future?
This is an exciting series in which Nikos expresses his views, thoughts and love for Greek Tragedy.
